She pointed out a picture of her in which she went into a hotel after getting pizza.
The photo made its way to “Family Guy,” where the writers turned it into a joke by redrawing Moretz with disproportionately long legs and a small torso. The fact that the “Family Guy” image was so widely shared caused problems for Moretz, who didn’t like that the joke was about her body.
“I just remember sitting there and thinking, ‘My body is being used as a joke, and it’s something I can’t change about who I am, and it’s all over Instagram,'” Moretz said. “It was as simple as walking into a hotel with leftovers.”
Moretz’s problems were made worse because it seemed like no one else saw the picture the way she did. “I told someone about it, and they said, “Oh, shut up, it’s funny,” Moretz said that ignoring her worries made it harder for her to get past the meme’s problem. She went to therapy, in the end, to help her deal with these feelings.
